Tousled Hair. Tousle Me Softly?

When I get out of the shower my hair looks really good, it's wavy. I want my hair to look tousled. What products do i use? Tousle me softly set? I have extremely thick and a little bit frizzy hair, not too much though. I take a shower at night.. should I take it in the morning and use the mouse, some frizz serum, and spray gel or do the same thing at night and just sleep with it down or in a ponytail or something.. ? I don't like how after I put mouse or gel in my hair it looks dirty. Will it look like that? Anything to add, comment, review that will help me get the hair I want please. Thanks!
